Steve, a run of the mill office worker. A fairly quiet man,
who goes to work, socialises with his colleagues, does his
work and goes home. Steve apears as any normal young
professional, a person we can pigeon-hole as a “suit”.
Steve however has a secret. It's not something he fully
understands, but he feels he has to do it. Steve cross
dresses in his own company.
Producers Notes
Behind Closed Doors is a script that deals with a very
sensitive and topical subject matter. What John delivers
in this script is a strong character piece that invites
us into the world of someone who doesn’t fit in with
social convention.
Directors Notes
I like the idea of the film as it doesn’t try and give a
positive or negative view on this subject, but that people
live this life and this is how it might happen. Steve
doesn’t need to bring us to the extremes of the
pantomime of drag queen or the idea of a man trapped
in a woman’s body or that he could be gay. No
explanation is needed because no explanation matters.
